​Zibo Yuan

Zibo Yuan (China, 2006) is a conductor and composer. In 2026, he was selected for the Järvi Academy at the Pärnu Music Festival, where he worked with Paavo Järvi, Neeme Järvi, Leonid Grin, and Kristjan Järvi.

In 2025, he received a Special Award from the international jury at the Antal Doráti International Conducting Competition in Budapest, becoming the youngest prize recipient in the competition’s history at the age of nineteen.

Zibo has worked with ensembles including the Jiangsu Symphony Orchestra, Shandong Symphony Orchestra, Shandong Youth Symphony Orchestra Järvi Academy Sinfonietta, and Pärnu City Orchestra. He has received guidance in masterclasses and lessons from Johannes Schlaefli, Charles Peltz, Martin Sieghart, Jeffrey Meyer, Alexander Polishchuk.

 

Alongside conducting, he is active as a composer. His recent work "The Red Sleeves" was released worldwide in 2026, while Xiu Chun was presented at the Thailand International Composition Festival. His composition has been published through a project jointly issued by the Vocal Music Teaching and Research Section of the Peking University Opera Research Institute and People’s Music Publishing House.

 

Yuan is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Composition at the New England Conservatory, where he studies with Kati Agócs and holds a 75% Dean’s Scholarship. He previously graduated in Conducting from the Middle School affiliated with the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China.
